Monthly highlights:

Not much to report this month with holidays and downtime on the cards for most people.

 

 

 

Dromcollogher Carnival 4 Mile

 

 

Congrats to Aoife Carroll 3rd lady in a time of 26:46

 

 

 

 

 

Coachford 5mile & Grenagh 5 Mile.

 

 

Well done Mags Murphy on 2nd lady home in the Coachford 5mile and 1st lady home in the Grenagh 5 Mile

 

 

 

Congrats also to Phil Carey on the sub 30 in Grenagh.

 

 

Castlemagner 5.5k

Congrats to Dave Lyons on his 3rd place in the Castlemagner 5.5k! We don’t see that distance too often

 

Cork City Sports

Well done to Paul Moloney on 6th place in the Cork City Sports 3000m in a pb time of 8.51.10 and also the pb in the National Senior Championship Morton stadium Santry 5000m a time of 15.29.77

 

Killarney Half & 10k

We had 25 runners in the Killarney ½ and 10km – well done to all especially all doing there first half marathons.

 

Other notes:

Training times:

Welcome back to Shane Simcox who is our new Club coach. Training is on 6.30pm in Mallow Park (across from Tesco) Tuesday and Thursday, 9am in Doneraile Park on Saturday and 9am on Sunday at the Roundabout.

 

The John Buckley 200 point challenge:

We have our first member over 200 points in the John Buckley 200 point challenge …congrats Peadar Lucey (lots close behind!)

The challenge is hotting up at the top but there are plenty of opportunities to get points on the board. The points spreadsheet to July 2017 can be found at https://mallowac.ie/mallow-ac-200-point-challenge/

 

13th largest club in Ireland:

As is obvious to all of us our club is growing…….Mallow AC is the 13th largest adult club in Ireland https://www.corkathletics.org/news/561-athletics-ireland-registration-figures-to-end-june-2017.html

 

Streets of Galway 8km:

Best of luck to everyone running the Street of Galway this weekend for the annual club away day. The bus leaves the Roundabout at 11am on Saturday.

Our new facebook policy is in place. Only results from the Mallow 200 point challenge and local AAI races will be posted by the club but members are encouraged to share results and achievements from other races they attend. See facebook for the full detail of the new policy.

 

Please note results are filtered by Club so to ensure your name is picked up you must register using Mallow AC.
